WAFCON 2024: We can upset Super Falcons – Tunisia forward Ellouzi

Tunisia forward, Sabrine Ellouzi is backing her team to create a big upset by beating Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The North Africans will start their campaign against the nine-time champions at the Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca on Sunday (today).

Tunisia have recorded just one win from eight outings at the WAFCON finals.

The Super Falcons are overwhelming favourites to win the Group B opening fixture.

Ellouzi is however unperturbed by Justine Madugu’s side past achievement in the competition.

The striker believed they had what it takes to shock their more illustrious opponent.
“For sure Nigeria is a strong team, they’ve won plenty of WAFCONs, we know this,” she said in a quotes relayed by Nigerian journalist, Victor Ademola.

“But it is still football. We are confident we can do something, so we will try our best and try to get the best result we can have, and after 90 minutes plus, we’ll see what we get.”

Tunisia and Nigeria have met only once in the competition – a 0-0 draw at the 2004 edition hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
