Transfer: You need to make sacrifices – Jay-Jay Okocha advises Osimhen on summer move

Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okoch has advised striker Victor Osimhen on his next move regarding his future this summer transfer window.

Osimhen’s future with Galatasaray is at the moment unclear.

The 26-year-old joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli last year.

His loan deal with the Turkish Super Lig champions expired at the end of May.

Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli on a permanent transfer this summer and Galatasaray are keen to sign him.

But the Nigeria international has been linked with several clubs in Europe and also in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to Turkish broadcaster TRT Spor via Haberler, Okocha, who played for Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig rivals Fenerbahçe, urged Osimhen that he needs to make sacrifices regarding his next move.

According to the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Osimhen is happy in Turkey and the country is a great place to play football.

“Turkey is a great place to play and live football,” Okocha said.

“Sometimes, you may need to make sacrifices when making decisions in football.

“Osimhen had a great season at Galatasaray. Ultimately, he is happy there. Why should not he stay with the team? I love Turkey. He loves it too,”

The retired footballer added: “I don’t know [his next destination].

“Wherever he decides to go, I wish him the best.”

Osimhen netted 37 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray during his loan spell with the club last season, winning the Golden Boot for the top scorer in the Tree Turkish top-flight league.
