Transfer: Partey’s next club after leaving Arsenal revealed
Ex-Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, is on the verge of signing for Villarreal.
The 32-year-old became a free agent after his contract with the Gunners expired in June.
According to The Athletic, Partey has now undergone a medical and is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Spanish club through to 2027.
The move would represent Partey’s return to Spain to continue his career, having played for Atletico Madrid before joining Arsenal.
On July 4, Partey was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The Ghana international denies the charges.
The investigation first started in February 2022, but he continued playing for Arsenal before his contract expired.
Partey is scheduled to appear before the Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 5.
