Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has categorically stated that he wants to keep striker Joshua Zirkzee at the club beyond the January transfer window.
Amorim insisted that the Netherlands international gives everything on the pitch of play.
Zirkzee joined Man United from Bologna last year.
He received a negative reaction from frustrated Old Trafford supporters when being substituted in the first half of Man United’s Premier League 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United last Monday.
The 23-year-old, who was introduced by Amorim during the closing stages of Man United’s Premier League 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, has since been linked with a return to Serie A.
When asked by talkSPORT about Zirkzee’s future amid reports linking him with a return to the Serie A, Amorim said: “I want to keep Josh because he gives everything and he’s trying in training but we don’t know.
“The window is open and we will see what happens. We just need to focus on training and to take this for the other games. It’s just one point so let’s focus on the performance for the next games.”
Zirkzee has struggled to hit top form for Man United since joining from Bologna a few months ago.
He has scored just three goals for the Red Devils in all competitions so far.
