Transfer: Dessers delighted with Panathinaikos move

Cyriel Dessers has shared his excitement after sealing his permanent transfer to Greek Super League champions, Panathinaikos.

The Greens announced the signing of the Nigeria international from Scottish Premiership club Rangers on Monday.

Dessers put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Panathinaikos.

The 30-year-old reflected on the move to the Greek capital.

“Panathinaikos are a very good team. I saw their atmosphere and history. They create a lot of chances, and my game is getting into the box and scoring goals. But for me, winning titles is the most important thing,” he told the club’s official website.

Dessers spent two years at Rangers following his arrival from Cremonese in 2023.

The striker was top scorer in the Scottish League last season with 19 goals.

He scored 52 goals in 115 appearances for the Gers.
