Super Eagles: How Eric Chelle treated Eguavoen during his unveiling as head coach [VIDEO]
New head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, met with the interim boss of the team, Augustine Eguavoen on Monday, during his unveiling.
Chelle was unveiled before the media by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The event took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium in Abuja, FCT.
When both men walked into the room, Chelle reached out to Eguavoen and hugged him.
The duo also engaged each other in a terse conversation before taking their seats.
Chelsea arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, after terminating his contract with Algerian club MC Oran.
Eguavoen had served as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles, assuming the role for the fourth time in August 2024.
He guided Nigeria to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.
Following Chelle’s appointment, Eguavoen will continue to focus on his responsibilities as the head of the Technical Department of the NFF.
