Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye is delighted to step on the pitch again after his lengthy injury layoff, DAILY POST reports.

The Nigeria international underwent surgery for a wrist injury in December 2024.

Okoye was sidelined for three months and 10 days.

The 25-year-old was between the sticks in Udinese’s 1-1 away draw against Lazio on Monday night.

It was the shot stopper’s first appearance for the Zebra since the 2-0 defeat to Genoa on December.

Okoye expressed his delight at returning to competitive action again.

“I’m very happy, both for me and for the team. We’re all happy and we want to continue like this,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was difficult to be out, but now I find a team that has grown in these months. Padelli, like the whole team, helped me a lot. I’m grateful for that. He’s a great goalkeeper and a great person”.
