Sunshine Stars head coach, Akinfolarin Bobola, believes that his players showed enough determination despite the defeat to Rivers United.
The Owena Waves lost by a lone goal to Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.
Abba Sulaiman found the back of the net late in the game, to secure maximum points for the hosts.
Akinfolarin commended his players for their performance in the game.
“It’s not the result we wanted having tried from the blast of the whistle to now concede a goal towards the end end of the game is painful,” Akinfolarin said to the media after the game.
“At least a point would have been okay considering our position on the league table. We will keep pushing till the end.”
Sunshine Stars remain in 19th position following the defeat.
