NPFL: Ogunbote relieved after Shooting Stars’ win against Sunshine Stars

Shooting Stars technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has described his side’s 1–0 triumph over Sunshine Stars as a much-needed relief.

Ikouwem Utim scored the only goal of the encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

Despite the win, Ogunbote lamented his team’s inability to convert other clear-cut chances during the match.

DAILY POST reports that the victory brought an end to Shooting Stars’ five-game winless streak in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

“The important thing is the three points that we have in the kitty,” Ogunbote said in a post-match interview.

“The win is a big relief for a team that is yet to win in five games.

“There were a lot of anxiety among my players, which made them miss a lot of obvious chances. In all, it’s a good one for us.”
