Rivers United manager, Finidi George, has acknowledged the resilience of Sunshine Stars despite his side’s victory in their matchday 34 encounter.

The Pride of Rivers defeated Sunshine Stars 1-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Abba Sulaiman scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Finidi claimed the win will boost his side’s chances of winning the title.

“Sunshine Stars gave us a real fight.
“They were disciplined and determined,” he said after the game.

“This win means a lot to us at this stage of the season to put pressure on other teams at the top.”
