Michael Carrick accused of not trusting £74million Manchester United star
Dwight Yorke is growing increasingly concerned by Michael Carrick’s treatment of one of Ruben Amorim’s most expensive Manchester United signings.
The Red Devils have made a sluggish start to the new campaign and were frustrated by 10-man Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Bryan Mbeumo’s second half goal appeared to have put Michael Carrick’s men on course of a much-needed victory, but Dominic Solanke’s injury-time header rescued a point for struggling Spurs.
United have won just one of their opening six Premier League matches and face a tough task tomorrow night in Europe when they travel to the Spanish capital to play Atletico Madrid.

Whether or not Benjamin Sesko is fit enough to be in contention to feature in attack remains to be seen, but Yorke has been puzzled by Carrick’s reluctance to start the £74million recruit from RB Leipzig on the occasions he has been available.
The Slovenia international has been struggling with a persistent shin splint injury that may yet require surgery.
Once he has regained full fitness, however, Yorke believes the 23-year-old should be an automatic starter up front.
He told talkSPORT: ‘Manchester United has always been talented in terms of the attacking areas and we always tend to win games from the front.
‘Yes, defenders do play their role and there have been some terrific defenders in the past.
‘When you look at those players up top, for me the big question mark there with Carrick, I don’t understand why Sesko doesn’t play.
‘I know he’s injured now but you’ve got to play the guy as a nine. You have to trust the kid, he’s got all the attributes.
‘Yes, he’s come off the bench and scored but you have to push him up top and let the others feed off him.’
He’s a handful, he works extremely hard and for me that’s the one thing that’s a bit concerning that he doesn’t give Sesko that opportunity to really lead that line up top.
