Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has named five Blues players who have improved since he took charge of the club last year.
The Italian highlighted the likes of Marc Cucurella, Noni Madueke, Levi Colwill, Enzo Fernandez, and Moises Caicedo.
Maresca took over as Chelsea’s manager last summer following the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino.
He won the UEFA Europa Conference League and secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League in his first season.
Maresca’s side are now set to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Speaking with Chelsea’s website ahead of his side’s FIFA Club World Cup tie with Los Angeles on Monday, Maresca said (via Chelsea News): “I have said many times that you can improve the team if you improve players.
“I have seen since we started that the players are improving, and that is the most important thing.
“Levi Colwill, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Noni Madueke, so many of these players are getting better and better.”
All five players were instrumental in Chelsea’s campaign last season.
