Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal has thanked the club’s former manager, Xavi for giving him the opportunity to make his debut for the Blaugrana in the past.
The Spain international spoke after leading Barcelona to win the 2024/25 LaLiga title on Thursday.
Recall that two goals from Yamal and Fermin Lopez gave Hansi Flick’s side a 2-0 win against Espanyol in the LaLiga.
Speaking after the match, Yamal noted that without Xavi he won’t have won the the LaLiga title.
“I’d like to thank Xavi, without him this was not gonna be possible,” Yamal said after the game as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“He gave us young players the opportunity to make our debuts.”
The 17-year-old added, “I would like to thank him.”
Xavi is a Barcelona legend who has played for the Catalan club as a player and also coached them in the past.
