Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has offered a heartfelt tribute to Barca’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia, after winning the LaLiga title on Thursday.
DAILY POST reports that Garcia tragically passed away in March.
He died just hours before Barcelona’s La Liga tie against Osasuna.
However, speaking at his post-match interview after Barcelona defeated Espanyol 2-0 to win the LaLiga title this season, Flick said Garcia would be very proud for the Blaugrana.
The German, however, noted that Barcelona have not forgotten Garcia.
“He’s looking down on us from above, and I’m sure he is very proud,” Flick said.
“We haven’t forgotten him. He was a big part of our team and will always have a place in our hearts.”
Apart from the LaLiga title, Barcelona have also won the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey this season.
