EPL: Your standard really high – Amorim responds to Keane’s criticism of Man Utd

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has responded to criticism from the club’s former captain, Roy Keane.

Keane had labelled Man United “a disgrace” for giving up on the Premier League title this season.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League tie with West Ham this weekend, Amorim insisted that Keane’s standard is really high.

According to him, the Red Devils deserve all the criticism that comes their way following the club’s worst-ever Premier League campaign.

Amorim’s side are in 15th place in the Premier League table with three games left to conclude the season.

But United booked their place in the Europa League final on Thursday where they will face Tottenham later.

“We are trying to do our best, but I agree we can do better,” Amorim said at his post-match interview. “I don’t have anything to say about the criticism, because we deserve it.

“We have to take the risk to get a lot of criticism from everybody, because the standards of Roy Keane and all these other guys are really high.

“But I have to make a choice – what is the best for the club, not what is the best for me,” he added.
