EPL: ‘You must learn from Liverpool, Man City’ – Rashford tells Man United
Manchester United loaned out forwatd, Marcus Rashford, has told the Red Devils to follow the footsteps of Liverpool and Manchester City.
The England international compared his parent club’s transition to that of Liverpool and Manchester City, saying the main difference between the teams is stability.
Rashford said United should be able to give a manager enough time to get his plan working succeed at Old Trafford.
He told Rest is Football podcast, “People say that we’ve been in a transition for years, but to be in a transition, you have to start it. The actual transition hasn’t started yet. When Liverpool went through this, they got [Jürgen] Klopp and stuck with him.
“They didn’t win in the beginning. People only remember his final few years when he was competing with [Manchester] City and winning the biggest trophies.
“To start a transition you have to make a plan and stick to it. This is where I speak about being realistic about what your situation is. We’ve had that many different managers, ideas and strategies in order to win that you end up in no man’s land.”
Rashford played his first senior team football for Manchester United in 2016 and during this period, he played under Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Erik ten Hag, and Ruben Amorim.
He also had interim managers at Old Trafford, with Ralf Rangnick, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Michael Carrick taking charge.
Liverpool have had just two managers in the same timeframe, Jürgen Klopp Arne Slot while Manchester City have stuck with Pep Guardiola.
