Paul Scholes, a former Manchester United middfielder, has advised Jack Grealish to consider leaving Manchester City for Aston Villa this summer transfer window.
According to Scholes, the move would help Grealish to re-energise his career again.
He stated this after Grealish did not travel with his Manchester City teammates for their final Premier League tie of the season against Fulham on Sunday, which they won 2-0.
The England international has struggled for game-time under manager Pep Guardiola.
“He [Grealish] needs to get away and re-energise his career. We all know what a good footballer he can be, but for the last couple of years, it’s been up and down,” Scholes told TNT Sports.
“Watching the young lad [Echeverri] coming on in the final ahead of him would have been a real kick in the teeth for Grealish, that would’ve hurt him.
“I think it is best for both parties [Man City and Grealish] for him to leave the club. Why should he not consider going back to Aston Villa?”
