EPL: Isak to become Newcastle’s highest-paid player amid interest from Liverpool, Arsenal

Alexander Isak is set to become Newcastle United’s highest-paid player ever as the Premier League club amid interest from their rivals.

Isak netted 23 goals in the league last season as the Magpies finished in Champions League spots last season.

The Swedish striker also played a key role as Eddie Howe’s team ended the club’s trophy drought with victory in the Carabao Cup, defeating Liverpool in the final.

Liverpool and Arsenal are big admirers of Isak and could make a move this summer.

According to The Times, Newcastle are determined to keep Isak and the officials are set to initiate talks over an improved contract.

They are ready to offer a salary above £150,000 a week, which would see Isak overtake the likes of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon as the club’s top earner.
