We are officially into the second half of this Premier League season.
All teams except Liverpool and Everton have played 19 fixtures and have 19 more to go.
The big clash this weekend is Manchester United’s trip to Anfield.
But before that Super Sunday game, we will have some interesting matches to feast on.
So, which one could we see surprise results?
1. Brighton vs Arsenal: Many pundits and fans expect Arsenal to get all three points in Saturday’s late kick-off. But the Gunners could be in for a real shock if they are not on top of their game. Mikel Arteta’s came from behind to win at Brentford on New Year’s Day. But if they concede that way at the Amex, it could be more difficult.
2. Crystal Palace vs Chelsea: It does seem that since Enzo Maresca insisted that Chelsea are not title contenders, they have embarked on a winless run. In their last game of 2024, they were beaten 2-0 at Ipswich Town. We could easily see a repeat of that at Selhurst Park on Saturday, as Palace are a tough nut to crack at home too.
3. Man City vs West Ham: The 2-0 win over Leicester City ended a dreadful run for Manchester City. But it is instructive to note they were not in any way the superior team. The Foxes dominated most of the game, but were let down by poor finishing. Pep Guardiola’s men might not get that much luck with Mohamed Kudu and co.
