Club World Cup: Maresca to be without two key Chelsea players against Fluminense
Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca will be without two key players against Fluminense when both sides clash in the Club World Cup semi-final tie on Tuesday night.
The two Chelsea players are defender Levi Colwill and striker Liam Delap.
Both players are suspended for the game after picking up their second yellow cards of the tournament against Palmeiras, meaning they can’t play Fluminense.
Speaking at his pre-match interview, Maresca suggested that new signing Joao Pedro will replace Delap in the striker position, fuelling further speculation that Nicolas Jackson’s future at Chelsea is bleak.
“Now with Levi and Liam are out, we’ll find different solutions,” Marasca said.
“Joao Pedro is ready, and we also have Nico. For sure, we’ll find a solution.”
“I think Joao can play in all the attacking positions for Chelsea and that is the difference with Nico.
“I see Nico as just a number 9 but I see Joao in different positions.”
