Champions League: Arsenal in nice position – Arteta speaks on qualification

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said his team is in “a really nice position” in the Champions League, following their 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.

Goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard sealed an easy win for the Gunners at the Emirates.

The result keeps Arteta’s men in third place in the league phase with only a trip to Girona left.

Arsenal only need a point from the game against the LaLiga side to be assured of finishing in the top eight spots and avoiding the play-offs.

“Very happy overall. It’s a massive step, what we’ve done tonight,” Arteta told reporters after the game.

“It’s put us in a really nice position before we play the last game in Girona.

“Scoring three goals creating plenty of chances and dominating the game. And not conceding a shot, and another clean sheet at home.

“Overall, we’re really happy.”
