Asante Kotoko head coach, Karim Zito has acknowledged that their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Kwara United was tough.
Zito asserted that the 2025 President Federation Cup champions performance was beyond his thoughts.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated Kwara United by 4-3 in the preliminary round first-leg tie at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra on Sunday.
“It was a tough game beyond our thinking because when we heard of Kwara United we thought it was a stroll in the park but as I told my players before the game that as far as they qualified they are a good team.” Zito stated in a post-match interview.
Kwara United will host Asante Kotoko in the reverse fixture on Sunday.
The encounter is billed for the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.
