Bournemouth change transfer stance on Chelsea and Liverpool target Alex Scott
Bournemouth will let England international Alex Scott leave in January, but only if a huge asking price is met and the club is in a safe position.
There has been heavyweight interest in the midfielder, with Chelsea and Liverpool heavily linked with a move for him over the summer.
His former Cherries boss Andoni Iraola is now in charge at Anfield, while the Blues are looking for a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who left for Manchester City.
Bournemouth were not interested in letting Scott go after his most impressive Premier League season to date over the last campaign.

The 23-year-old has earned a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad and won his first two caps over the recent international break, looking very good as he did so.
The former Bristol City player appears to be looking to move on after rejecting offers of a new contract at Bournemouth earlier this year.
The BBC report that there has been another round of talks between the Cherries hierarchy and Scott’s representatives and the club is now open to a January exit.
However, that will only take place if a bid of ‘about £100 million’ arrives and Bournemouth feel comfortable with their Premier League position.
New manager Marco Rose has had a tough start in terms of results, yet to win a game in the Premier League and with just three points from six games.
If the Cherries feel like they need Scott to help save them from relegation than they may not sanction a sale in January.
Scott is only under contract at Bournemouth until 2028, still on the same deal he signed when joining from Bristol City in 2023, so the Cherries will feel under increasing pressure to sell as 2027 progresses.
Scott picked up a quad injury while with the England camp and is set to be sidelined for around a month, with Bournemouth boss Marco Rose clearly annoyed by the situation.
‘It’s an injury from a muscle, and we’ll do pictures [scans] in some days again,’ Rose said last week. ‘But we’re going to miss him, for sure, for four or five weeks. I’m very disappointed and it’s a big loss.
‘We miss a very important player, but I don’t want to blame anyone.
‘We are very happy that he made his debut for the English national team. He did well and we just hope that he is getting fit again quite soon.’
