Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman are all Super Eagles stars to have donned the Leicester City jersey…

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho made history in 2021, as they played a pivotal role in Leicester City’s debut FA Cup triumph, Soccernet.ng reports.

The duo were also a part of the team that returned the Foxes to the English Premier League under Enzo Maresca, winning the EFL Championship in 2024.

The pair have moved on since then. Ndidi now plies his trade with Turkish side Besiktas, while Iheanacho plays for SPFL side Celtic.

Iheanacho reflects on Leicester‘s FA Cup season

The former Manchester City forward moved to the King Power Stadium for €27.7m in 2017 and worked under Brendon Rodgers.

The former Liverpool coach presented the FA Cup and Community Shield trophies in 2021. Iheanacho is now reunited with Rodgers at Celtic.

In the season that saw Leicester City make history, the 2013 FA Cup winner had the best season of his career as he scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 39 games for the Foxes across all competitions.

”I think it was the best season I’ve had in my career. So it was a great, great season for me,” the 28-year-old said in quotes revealed by the Daily Record.

“We won the cup and we won the Community Shield. It was really good, I loved it. Hopefully, that kind of thing can happen again, maybe here in Celtic, you never know.

“It was a fantastic season. It was a miracle season, to be fair. Nobody knew it was coming. It was a great season under him. Hopefully, that will repeat again.

“It will be a process that we just have to take one step at a time. If I get my chance to play with the help of my teammates, I can achieve that [goal tally] and more, but it’s just a need to focus and just take it one game at a time,” Iheanacho continued.

After poor spells at Middlesbrough and Sevilla, Iheanacho is confident Brendan Rodgers can get the best out of him again in Scotland.

“I’ve always believed in myself, and I believe in my quality and what I can do. It’s just to get the opportunity to showcase what I can do or bring.

“I just believed in myself right from when I started playing. If the opportunity comes, I know I’m going to do well.

“But this time now, it came with someone that I know really well and someone that knows me really well.

“So I’m happy doing this under him. The manager knows me, and I’ve worked with him quite a bit.

“He’s a brilliant manager, and the way he manages players, he’s top-notch. I think he does it quite well, and I’m happy to be working with him again. I’m really excited,” the Super Eagles star concluded.

Celtic’s next game is against Hibernian today, and Iheanacho will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once more and lead his team to victory.
