Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has identified Raphinha as the Blaugrana player who could win the next Ballon d’Or.

Recall that Manchester City’s Rodri won the 2024 Ballon d’Or ahead of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.

According to Flick, the Brazilian international is a candidate for the top individual prize.

He spoke ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League Round of 16 second-leg tie with Benfica on Tuesday.

“Raphinha for the Ballon d’Or? He is a candidate, yes,” Flick was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying in his pre-match interview.

“Raphinha has this hunger and a way of attacking that you can see. It’s great to watch him play. I’m happy that he’s here and at this level.”

Raphinha has been impressive for Barcelona so far this season.

He is among the top players expected to shine in the Champions League this term.
