Ballon d’Or 2025: FFF president picks player who ‘deserves’ to win award
The president of the France Football Federation, FFF, Philippe Diallo, has said that Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé “deserves” to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Dembele is one of the frontrunners having enjoyed an impressive season.
The 28-year-old has netted 25 goals since the start of 2025 and played a crucial role in PSG completing a clean sweep.
PSG finished the campaign with the Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions titles.
“He is perhaps the favourite,” Diallo said in an interview with Le Figaro.
“Ousmane Dembélé has had an exceptional season.
“I am delighted that we (France) have two players (Dembélé and Kylian Mbappé) who should at least be on the podium, and that Dembélé deserves to win this trophy.”
