Arsenal 2-1 Leeds: Guimaraes scores winner as Gunners secure comeback win
Arsenal scored twice in eight minutes to come from behind and beat Leeds United 2-1 at the Emirates.
Having suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton before the international break, the Premier League champions returned with a stern test against an unbeaten Leeds side.
And Daniel Farke’s side showed exactly how they had started the season so well, frustrating Mikel Arteta’s side all over the pitch and dominating the midfield battle.
Arsenal had to wait more than 20 minutes for their first effort on goal as Kai Havertz headed straight at James Trafford, but Leeds had the best chance of the first half in the closing stages as Gabriel Gudmundsson forced a smart save from David Raya at a tight angle.

Leeds, however, did hit the front shortly after the break, James Justin rifling Gudmundsson’s low cross into the net to spark pandemonium in the away end.
But Arsenal, who had looked out of sorts in the early stages of the second half, finally clicked into gear, with Riccardo Calafiori bundling the ball past Trafford to level after the hour.
And the introduction of Bruno Guimaraes produced the game’s winning moment, the Brazilian combining superbly with Declan Rice before slotting past Trafford into the bottom-left corner to complete Arsenal’s comeback.
The Gunners move level with Manchester City at the top of table ahead of their visit to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday.
