Again, football star, Neymar tests positive for COVID-19
Brazilian football star, Neymar, has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.
Neymar’s club, Santos, in a statement announced that the Brazil forward is currently undergoing treatment, Goal.com reports.
“With viral condition that started on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Medical Department of Santos FC, which confirmed infection by Covid-19.
“He had been away from activities since Thursday, and undergoing symptomatic treatment,” Santos disclosed.
DAILY POST reports that during his time at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, Neymar also tested positive for COVID-19.
Despite being Brazil’s record goalscorer with 79 international goals, the 33-year-old player’s last international appearance was October 2023 in a match against Uruguay, where he was stretchered off with injury.
In 2024, he missed the Copa America
tournament.
He has also been excluded from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for ongoing World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
