Wike’s aide Lere invites Sowore, ‘Sahara Desert people’ to project commissioning

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has mocked activist politician Omoyele Sowore ahead of the commissioning of projects by his principal.

Olayinka disclosed that Sowore and his media outfit, SaharaReporters — which he referred to as Sahara Desert — are invited to the project commissioning on Thursday.

Wike is scheduled to begin another round of project commissioning across the FCT on Thursday.

The minister will also flag off the construction of Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II in the FCT on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Olayinka posted on his social media handle:

“Omoyele Sowore and his Sahara Desert people are specially invited to the flag-off of the construction of Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II, FCT.”
