We’re fixing problems Tinubu inherited – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Monday said residents of the capital city should expect more works from him.

Wike disclosed this while stating that President Bola Tinubu’s administration inherited so many problems.

Speaking during his monthly media parley in Abuja, the Minister said efforts are ongoing to fix some of these inherited problems.

Wike also reeled out some of the projects that his administration is working on.

According to Wike: “Having commissioned projects does not mean that our work has ended. What we commissioned was to celebrate Mr. President’s second year in office.

“Of course, there is still more work to be done, more works are going on, and soon we will invite you to flag off more projects that have positive impacts on the lives of the residents of Abuja.

“There are so many that I can’t really reel out, but I do know that we have ongoing the road from Pai to Gomani, we have Deidei road, we have the Kasana road where we have the Renewed Hope Agenda housing estate, we have the Court of Appeal division, we have the Justices’ quarters of the Federal High Court,

“And some other projects like the continuation of the N5, we have the N20 road, and so many things to be done.

“We have this project of ‘Lit Up Abuja,’ and you know that Abuja will be 50 years in February next year, which is like a jubilee year.

“There are so many things to be done, and we are doing a lot of school rehabilitation, so the work is endless.

“For your information, I’m not taking any break. Since after the commissioning of 16 good days, I don’t know how many people would have survived that.

“This is a government that inherited so many problems, and we are doing our best to fix them.

“Within two years, doing something you have not done for 10 years, since 1999, something that was not done, you now expect to be done within two years? It’s not possible.”
