We Provide Quality Healthcare To Nigerians, Says Nizamiye Hospital Medical Director
The Medical Director of Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, Professor İbrahim Yanmış, has disclosed that the main priority of the hospital is not money, but to offer help to people in dire need.
Yanmış, who spoke in an interview monitored in Abuja on Friday, declared that the management of the Abuja-based hospital has a policy of helping people who are in need.
Recall that the hospital has raised the standard of Medicare in Nigeria through a breakthrough in premature babies and life-saving surgery such as cardiac and brain surgery effectively.
Yanmış noted that the hospital has been giving high and quality medical service in Abuja for more than 10 years, adding that they have increased services and focusing especially on some special problems such as cardiac problems, neo-natal and surgery.
He affirmed that at the hospital, they have three international cardiologists on a full-time basis, saying that in case of any cardiac issue, they can reach out to their consultant anytime while the lab is ready with all the team.
“We believe that everybody needs to have high-quality medical care, so our target is to improve every year because the medical sector involves improving every day. It is a difficult job, but we focus on having high-quality doctors by spending lots of money.
“We are bringing in a new cardiovascular surgeon from Spain, a very high-quality doctor doing all kinds of surgery, but it’s not cheap, too expensive for the hospital.
“We believe that if we bring this kind of doctor here and give them high-quality equipment, we can improve the quality of medical service, and people don’t need to go outside the country for medical treatment again.”
Also speaking, the Consultant Paediatric at the hospital, Dr. Lawan Musa Tahir, explained the quality of medical services being rendered at Nizamiye Hospital.
He stated that they have three full-time consultant paediatricians and two part-time consultants, making five available round the clock.
While responding to the reason for referring the hospital for women to have babies, he said: “They will have first contact with the gynaecologist, so she won’t have to wait for hours before seeing a specialist.

Director of Operations Mohammed Abubakar emphasised what makes the hospital the best in terms of medical services in the country.
“We have good doctors, equipment, good operating system. Before we started the hospital over a decade ago, we sat down and looked at the structure that drives the hospital to the next level.
“The hospital started with 11 clinics but can now boast of 48 clinics. Secondly, in terms of staffing, we don’t actually relax on that as we look at the areas from time to time to improve”, he said.
