Viktor Gyökeres primed to lead Arsenal’s attack next season after new round of negotiations

Swedish International Viktor Gyökeres Poised to Lead Arsenal’s Attack After Fresh Negotiations

Swedish international striker Viktor Gyökeres is primed to lead the attack for English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal FC, following a fresh round of negotiations between the north London side and Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon.

According to a report on Sunday by reputable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are edging closer to sealing a deal for the prolific forward after renewed talks in recent hours.

In a post shared on his official X page (formerly Twitter), Romano revealed that Gyökeres will not return to training with Sporting, as he is fully focused on securing a move away from the club.

“Arsenal are now getting closer to signing Viktor Gyökeres after a new round of talks in recent hours.

Gyökeres will NOT return for training at Sporting, as he’s fully focused on leaving the club; Arsenal are now advancing.

Nothing done yet, but discussions are underway,” Romano wrote.

The latest round of intensive negotiations has seen Arsenal agree on personal terms with the player, and talks with Sporting CP are now in advanced stages, signalling a potential breakthrough in the transfer saga.

Gyökeres has been a key target for Arsenal this summer, with manager Mikel Arteta eager to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the preseason.

The 27-year-old Swedish forward has been a revelation since joining Sporting, boasting an impressive record of 97 goals in 102 appearances across all competitions, including back-to-back league titles.
