Vigilante killed, locals abducted in fresh bandits attack in Zamfara village
One member of a local vigilante group has been killed and several people abducted after armed bandits attacked Kurya Madaro community in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The attack happened late Saturday night, according to a post made on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine on X.
During the attack, the bandits reportedly killed a vigilante who was trying to defend the village. An unspecified number of people were also taken away by the attackers.
“Yesterday night, bandits invaded the Kurya Madaro community in Kauran Namoda LGA, Zamfara State. They killed one vigilante group member and abducted an unspecified number of people during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
