Video streaming platform Rumble has taken a decisive step into the crypto economy with the launch of Rumble Wallet, a built-in, non-custodial digital wallet designed to enable crypto payments and tipping across its creator ecosystem. The company, which is publicly traded and often positioned as an alternative to YouTube, unveiled the product in partnership with stablecoin issuer Tether and crypto payments firm MoonPay, signalling a deeper commitment to decentralised financial tools.
Rumble Wallet is embedded directly within the platform, allowing users to support creators financially without relying on traditional payment rails. At launch, the wallet supports Bitcoin alongside Tether’s USDT stablecoin and its gold-backed token, XAUT. By focusing on these assets, Rumble aims to offer creators and fans a mix of widely recognised cryptocurrencies and relatively stable digital currencies suited for everyday transactions and tipping.
The wallet has been developed using Tether’s Wallet Development Kit, with MoonPay providing the payments infrastructure that enables seamless crypto transactions. Importantly, the wallet is non-custodial, meaning users retain full control of their funds rather than handing custody to the platform. This design choice aligns closely with the broader crypto ethos of user ownership and financial autonomy—principles that Rumble’s leadership says are central to the company’s mission.
Rumble founder and chief executive Chris Pavlovski framed the launch as a natural extension of the platform’s values. He described Rumble as a space built around free expression and individual liberty, arguing that cryptocurrency and decentralised technologies reflect the same ideals. According to Pavlovski, the wallet is intended to give users and creators more direct ways to engage with and support content they value, without intermediaries dictating terms or taking disproportionate cuts.
The project also represents a milestone for Tether, as Rumble Wallet is the first live deployment of its Wallet Development Kit. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the collaboration brings together shared principles around decentralisation, freedom, and user empowerment. He added that the wallet has the potential to give tens of millions of users more financial control than is typically offered by mainstream platforms, even within highly regulated markets such as the United States.
Plans for the wallet were first outlined in mid-2025, with momentum building later in the year following confirmation of Tether’s involvement and the introduction of crypto tipping features. The official launch now places Rumble among a small but growing group of content platforms experimenting with blockchain-based monetisation models.
Despite the strategic significance of the move, Rumble’s stock showed little immediate enthusiasm, dipping slightly on the day of the announcement and remaining sharply lower compared with a year earlier. Still, the introduction of Rumble Wallet underscores the company’s long-term ambition to differentiate itself through decentralisation, offering creators alternative revenue streams at a time when platform control and monetisation policies remain under intense scrutiny.
