The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the action of Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal aka KWAM 1 de Ultimate as an act of terrorism.
Abdullahi said KWAM 1’s action of attempting to prevent ValueJet aircraft from taxing should be seen as a “hostage situation.”
Posting on X, he said the Fuji Maestro should be fully prosecuted for terrorism-related charges.
Recall that KWAM 1 had attempted to prevent an aircraft of ValueJet from taxing after he was removed from the jet.
The popular singer was forced out of the aircraft because he had substance suspected to be alcohol onboard.
While attempting to prevent the aircraft taxing, the pilot forcefully taxed away, creating a near-death experience of K1 and ground staff at the airport.
K1 was subsequently barred from flying for a period of six months by the Nigerian government.
However, Abdullahi said the singer should not be overlooked because he is the official musician of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He noted that the singer can’t get away with such in a the Western world.
He wrote: “On this KWAM1 matter, I commend my brother, the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo for describing the action as a “hostage situation.” A hostage situation is an act of terrorism. What are the laws against terrorist actions in Nigeria? Will these laws be applied in this case? Placing KWAM1 on a no-fly list is a good place to start. But it must not end there. Nigerians know that KWAM1 is the official musician of the APC.
“They will therefore wait to see if this fact alone would influence how this matter is handled. If it were an ordinary citizen, it is doubtful if the individual would not be arrested on the spot and processed for prosecution.
“Pray, if KWAM1 had done this in Europe or America, what do you think would have happened to him by now? What he did was the ULTIMATE in reckless behaviour. It is an act of terrorism and it should be treated as such.”
