Trump-Backed WLFI Token to Debut on Major Exchanges September 1
World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture backed by former U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, is preparing for a high-profile exchange debut of its governance token, WLFI. Major platforms, including HTX (formerly Huobi), KuCoin, and Kraken, have confirmed support, with deposits already open on HTX and trading scheduled to begin on September 1.
The listing marks a major milestone for the project, which has already attracted significant investor interest. Earlier this year, World Liberty Financial raised more than $500 million to fund its vision of bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralised systems. Alongside WLFI, the project has also introduced a stablecoin, USD1, backed by U.S. Treasury securities, cash, and similar reserves.
WLFI’s rollout will be managed through a distribution system called Lockbox. Early investors who purchased tokens at discounted rates of $0.015 and $0.05 will be able to unlock 20% of their holdings immediately upon launch. The remaining 80% will remain under community governance, a move aimed at strengthening decentralisation and investor trust.
Additionally, founder and advisor allocations will remain locked, reducing the risk of early sell-offs and signaling long-term commitment from the project’s leadership.
The project has generated buzz in both political and crypto circles, with some industry commentators noting that WLFI represents a rare crossover between politics, governance, and blockchain innovation. Crypto commentator Quinten emphasised that the project relies on grassroots community support rather than influencer-driven hype, positioning WLFI as a community-first initiative.
At the time of writing, WLFI is trading at $4.41e-12 on CoinMarketCap, with a daily trading volume of $19,855.25. The token has seen a 12.59% rise in the past 24 hours, reflecting early market enthusiasm, though volatility is expected once broader exchange trading begins.
As WLFI’s September 1 launch approaches, the project stands at the intersection of finance, politics, and technology. Its success could shape how politically connected ventures leverage blockchain to build governance-driven ecosystems.
