Pi Network Coin Faces Resistance Despite Linux Node Upgrade

Pi Network’s token, PI, is navigating a turbulent trading phase even as the project advances with critical ecosystem updates. At press time, PI was priced around $0.3483, marking a 1.6% daily increase. The coin’s market capitalisation stood at roughly $2.77 billion, while trading activity surged by nearly 119% to reach $59.4 million, according to CoinMarketCap.

The boost in ecosystem utility came with the release of a Linux-compatible version of the Pi Node software. This upgrade, long requested by the community, is expected to strengthen the network’s decentralisation by allowing developers and node operators to run infrastructure on a broader range of systems. Until now, Pi Nodes were limited to Mac and Windows, leaving Linux users to rely on custom builds.

Despite the upgrade, price charts reveal hesitation. Data from TradingView’s four-hour timeframe showed PI trading near $0.3489, slightly down by 0.40%. The token is struggling to push beyond its 50-day moving average at $0.3514, while the longer-term 200-day average at $0.3843 looms as an additional barrier.

Earlier this month, PI briefly touched $0.46 but failed to sustain gains, retreating into its current $0.33–$0.37 consolidation range. According to crypto analyst Nftrustless, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) shows bullish divergence—an indicator that previously preceded a 40% rally. He noted that holding the $0.33 support zone could enable a rebound toward $0.46, while a breakdown below $0.32 may trigger further downside.

Beyond charts, social sentiment around Pi appears to be losing steam. Santiment data revealed that online engagement peaked in March, May, and July, coinciding with brief price rallies. However, participation dropped sharply by late August, highlighting growing uncertainty among traders.

Still, the Linux node launch signals ongoing progress toward Pi’s decentralisation goals. According to the project’s official blog, the update simplifies installation and maintenance, aligning the platform with infrastructure commonly used by exchanges and technical partners. While the development strengthens Pi’s fundamentals, sustained growth will depend on whether investors regain confidence in the coin’s long-term potential.
