Troops repel terrorist ambush in Katsina community
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have repelled a terrorist ambush and recovered seven motorcycles during separate operations in Kankara and Faskari Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Sunday.
He noted that the incident occurred when troops of the 17 Brigade, while on routine patrol along the Kankara–FUDMA–Makera–Dutsinma–Dabawa road, came under fire at Turare village.
Sources revealed to Makama that the soldiers responded swiftly, clearing the ambush and forcing the terrorists to retreat.
In a related operation, troops raided Jeka Areda village in Kankara LGA, engaging terrorists who fled towards Ruwan Godiya in Faskari. Blocking forces of the Defence Special Operations Force (DSOF) intercepted the fleeing gunmen, who escaped with gunshot wounds.
During the operation, troops recovered six motorcycles at Ruwan Godiya and one motorcycle at Jeka Areda.
