Manchester United winger, Jason Sancho, blocked the club from signing Argentina goalkeeper, Emi Martinez on transfer deadline day.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils were keen in signing Martinez from Aston Villa in a direct swap deal involving Sancho as both clubs value the two players at around £25million.
But Sancho’s preference to leave Old Trafford on loan rather than a permanent transfer ruined any chances of United and Aston Villa agreeing a remarkable swap deal.
Sancho wasn’t part of Man United manager, Ruben Amorim’s plans this season.
The former Dortmund star spent last season on loan at Chelsea and wanted to secure a permanent transfer to the Premier League west London club.
But unfortunately, the Blues failed to agree terms with 25-year-old and decided to pay a £5million penalty to to send him back to United.
Sancho then held talks with several Serie A clubs before Aston Villa launched a deadline day move to sign him on loan.
Meanwhile, Man United have already secured the signing of Belgian shot-stopper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
