President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for Paris, France, on a private visit en route to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In Addis Ababa, Tinubu will attend the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State.

According to a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will arrive in Addis Ababa early next week for the AU summit scheduled for February 12 to 16, 2025.

The trip is coming about nine weeks after Tinubu’s state visit to France from November 27 to December 1, 2024, for a three-day state visit at Macron’s invitation.

During the last trip, the two leaders signed agreements on developing critical infrastructure and ensuring long-term agricultural and food security in Nigeria.

The visit also saw the signing of an agreement between United Bank for Africa (UBA) Group Chairman Tony Elumelu and French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industry, Mr. Antoine Armand, for UBA to commence operations in Paris.

Additionally, Zenith Bank inaugurated its services in France during the visit.

After the visit, Tinubu proceeded to South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th Bi-National Commission between Nigeria and South Africa in Cape Town alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Tinubu has embarked on over 30 foreign trips since assuming office about 21 months ago.
