Institutions Gain 24/7 Fiat Access Through Singapore Gulf Bank Partnership

Singapore Gulf Bank has joined forces with Matrixport’s Cactus Custody to launch a regulated fiat custody service that operates around the clock. The initiative is aimed at institutional clients and blends the reliability of a licensed bank with the technological efficiency of digital asset infrastructure, ensuring secure and continuous access to funds.

The collaboration connects SGB’s established banking network with Cactus Custody’s digital platform, giving institutions the ability to oversee both fiat and cryptocurrency in one place. By tightening compliance measures and streamlining settlement processes, the service is designed to make treasury management more seamless and efficient under regulatory oversight.

The integration also extends the reach of SGB Net, the bank’s real-time payments system, which automates cross-border fund flows. Both firms say this will drive faster, more cost-effective, and safer international transactions compared to existing legacy systems.

Cactus Custody General Manager Wendy Jiang emphasised that the partnership strengthens infrastructure for institutions, providing them with the tools to manage diverse assets while meeting compliance standards. Jireh Chua, Chief Development Officer at SGB, added that the move builds on the bank’s open-API framework, enabling global clients to move fiat instantly and securely at scale.

The partnership highlights a broader push toward building financial infrastructure that is always on, compliant, and globally connected—catering to institutions seeking to bridge the gap between traditional banking and digital markets.
