‘This Is Critical’ — Trump Eager To End Russia-Ukraine War

U.S. President-elect, Donald Trump, said addressing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine will be his foremost priority when he assumes office next month.
In an interview with Paris Match on Wednesday, Trump underscored the devastating toll of the war citing immense loss of lives and properties on both sides.
Trump emphasized that while the Middle East remains an important focus for U.S. foreign policy, the Ukraine-Russia conflict poses a more complex and pressing challenge.
According to him, “The numbers are staggering—hundreds of thousands of soldiers have been killed”
“This is a critical issue, and we need to solve it urgently.
“I believe resolving the Ukraine issue with Russia is paramount. While the Middle East presents its difficulties, Ukraine and Russia require immediate attention. Both countries are suffering unimaginable losses,” Trump stated.
Trump on December 7 held a trilateral meeting on Saturday in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the war in Ukraine and ways to end it.
During the meeting, Trump proposed an immediate ceasefire as a first step toward resolution.
“A lot of people are dying. We need to act quickly,” he said.
Also, Trump reiterated his stance on U.S. involvement in Syria, saying the country should handle its internal affairs without external intervention.
Mohammed al-Bashir had on Tuesday declared himself Syria’s interim prime minister.
Backed by rebel groups who overthrew President Bashar al-Assad three days ago, al-Bashir will lead the interim government until March 1.
