Teenager Charged With Killing Parents To Fund Trump Assassination Plot
A teenager has been charged with killing his parents in what authorities allege was part of a plan to finance the assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump and overthrow the federal government.
Nikita Casap, 17, from Wisconsin, faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide following the deaths of his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, in February, Sky News reports.
According to an FBI search warrant unsealed Friday, Casap reportedly wrote a manifesto expressing his desire to assassinate Trump, and claimed the murders were an attempt to secure the financial means and autonomy to carry out his plan.
Prosecutors allege that on February 11, Casap shot his mother three times, twice in the abdomen and once in the neck, before fatally shooting his stepfather in the back of the head.
He then allegedly continued attending school and lived in the family home with the bodies until February 23 before he allegedly fled the scene with $14,000 in cash, passports, and the family dog.
The decomposing bodies of Casap’s parents were discovered on February 28 after Mayer’s mother requested a welfare check, having not heard from the couple in weeks.
Casap was arrested the same day in WaKeeney, Kansas, over 800 miles from his home, while driving Mayer’s Volkswagen SUV.
In addition to the murder charges, Casap is facing two counts of hiding a corpse, theft of property over $10,000, and two counts of misappropriating identification to obtain money. He remains in custody at the Waukesha County Jail on a $1m bond and is expected to enter a plea next month.
Details of the alleged assassination plot surfaced in the FBI warrant, which cites a three-page antisemitic manifesto that praises Adolf Hitler and outlines Casap’s reasons for targeting Trump.
The warrant also references communications Casap allegedly had through TikTok and Telegram, including messages exchanged with a Russian-speaking individual about fleeing to Ukraine.
Prosecutors said the teenager discussed plans to live in Ukraine and trigger governmental collapse in the U.S. by targeting both the president and potentially the vice president.
Casap’s public defender, Nicole Ostrowski, has challenged some of the charges, including the theft allegation, citing lack of evidence. She has also emphasized Casap’s age in court, stating, “He is young, he is still in high school.”
Due to the extent of decomposition, Casap’s mother and stepfather had to be identified through dental records.
