The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has apprehended a suspected serial motorcycle thief identified as Falade Wasiu in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was arrested for stealing a “lady” motorcycle with registration number MUS398QP from Ajegunle, a community within the Atan-Ota metropolis.

Confirming the arrest, the State Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf, and made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, said the suspect was arrested on his way to Oshodi, where he intended to sell the motorcycle.

According to the statement, the suspect, on interrogation, confessed to conspiring with an accomplice identified as Wale to steal the motorcycle about five months ago.

The suspect revealed that they scaled the perimeter fence of the premises before taking the motorcycle and kept the bike in an uncompleted building since the theft.

He said, “The Ado-Odo/Igbesa Area Commander, ACC Oluti Kehinde, received a report from a complainant (name withheld) about the theft of a specific ‘lady’ motorcycle.

“Acting swiftly, the Area Commander ordered the Corps’ surveillance team to be on high alert and patrol the area. Subsequently, on 7th August, 2025, at about 2:30 a.m., the surveillance team arrested one Falade Wasiu, male, a resident of Akashu Village, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

“He was found in possession of the stolen ‘lady’ motorcycle with registration number MUS 398 QP, a black plastic TVS, three gas lighters, and an MTN SIM card.”

The suspect further admitted to having stolen motorcycles in the past and disclosed that he had once escaped from police custody.

Commander Ganzallo, however, confirmed that the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ado-Odo Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
