Seplat Energy Plc, a Nigerian energy company with listings on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange (LSE), has announced the re-admission of its shares to trading on the LSE’s main market.

This development follows the company’s completion of its acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, as initially disclosed on December 12, 2024.

The re-admission which was disclosed in a statement covers Seplat Energy’s entire issued share capital, consisting of 588,444,561 ordinary shares.

These shares have been reinstated on the equity shares segment for international commercial companies with a secondary listing under the Official List of the Financial Conduct Authority.

The statement reads, “Seplat Energy Plc, a Nigerian energy company listed on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange, announces that, further to the announcement on 12 December 2024 regarding the completion of the acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, its entire issued share capital of 588,444,561 ordinary shares has today been readmitted to the equity shares (international commercial companies secondary listing) segment of the Official List of the Financial Conduct Authority and trading on the main market for listed securities of the London Stock Exchange PLC”.

Seplat Energy announced yesterday that it has completed its $800m acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) from ExxonMobil.

The transaction is transformative for Seplat Energy, more than doubling production and positioning the Company to drive growth and profitability, whilst contributing significantly to Nigeria’s future prosperity.

Chairman of Seplat Energy, Udo Udoma said, “Seplat Energy sincerely thanks President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for supporting this transaction, and appreciates the support and diligence of the various Ministries and regulators for all the work to reach a successful conclusion.

“We are delighted to welcome the MPNU employees to Seplat Energy. We are excited to begin our journey in a new region of the country, and we look forward to replicating the positive impacts we have achieved within our communities in our current areas of operations.

“Seplat’s mission is to deliver value to all our stakeholders, and we treasure the good relationships we have developed with the Government, regulators, communities and our staff.”
