Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, says the party’s membership strength has grown to over 800,000 recently.

Luckyman Egila, who disclosed this at a press conference in Port Harcourt at the weekend, revealed that prominent politicians, including two former governors and federal lawmakers have joined the party.

According to him, the Rivers State chapter of the ADC “is a beautiful bride”, stating that the party has been “receiving key politicians into its fold” ahead of the 2027 elections.

He named Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia as the two former governors who are now members of the party.

The party spokesman also revealed that Prince Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP “is also a member of the ADC”.

Egila continued, “These persons have left their former parties, and they are now full members of the ADC.

“And you can only become a member of a party when you have registered with that party and issued it with a membership card. So all of them are now full members of the ADC.”

He further listed former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Okpara and former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo as members of ADC in Rivers State.

“The names I have mentioned are all key politicians in Rivers State, and of course, you can’t write these people off. They are all members of the ADC,” he stated.
