A group, De- Advocates for Justice Today, has called for the immediate release of the Convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore by the police.

President of De-Advocates, Comrade Israel Joe made the call in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri.

Sowore was detained over allegations of criminal defamation and forgery.

“It is important to draw the attention of the police who have deviated clearly from the twin principles of justice ‘Nemo Judex in causa sua’.

“You cannot be the judge on your own matter as being done by the police in this case,” he said.

According to the group, “Mr. Sowore has been a strong voice in the social national space challenging every illegality of the police, which earned him a permanent hatred within the ranks of the police.

“It is, therefore, our call that the activist should be released immediately and unconditionally.

“We shall not hesitate to converge at the Nigeria Police Force for a massive action in solidarity with SoworeNow.”
