Operatives of the Taraba State Police Command have recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux and apprehended two suspects in connection with the theft.

The announcement was made on Monday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, James Lashen Saminu, through a statement made available to journalists in the state.

The operation, which occurred on 28th August 2025, followed a report from the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano State.

The report indicated that a white Toyota Hilux, without plate number, had been stolen from one Mr. Murtala Musa of No. 6 Dutse Road, Kano, and was suspected to be en route to Jalingo.

“Acting swiftly on the intelligence, operatives of the Taraba State Anti-Kidnapping Squad mounted surveillance and successfully intercepted the vehicle in the Di-Nyavoh area Jalingo.

“Two individuals, Yallah Kadaraof Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello, were found in possession of the vehicle and were promptly arrested,” the statement read.

While applauding the operatives, the Commissioner of Police, Betty Isokpan, said the case is currently under investigation.

She reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state.

The commissioner also called on the public to continue to support the police by sharing timely and accurate information, stressing that community collaboration remains a critical tool in combating crime.
