The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified suspected vandal who was electrocuted on Thursday.

The police noted that the suspects were electrocuted while attempting to vandalise the electricity infrastructure belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The police in a statement on Thursday said the command discovered the lifeless body near step-down electricity lines at Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Asokoro.

The tools used by the suspects were also recovered at the scene, while his accomplice reportedly fled.

“The FCT Police Command strongly warns individuals against engaging in such criminal activities, emphasising that vandalisation of public infrastructure is a grave offence that will not be tolerated within the Federal Capital Territory.

“Security operatives remain on high alert to apprehend perpetrators and ensure the protection of critical national assets,” the police.
