The Police have arrested three male suspects for allegedly vandalising and stealing solar street lights at the Okpara Square in Enugu State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a release, gave the names of the suspects as David Biome, Emmanuel Philip, and Abdullahi Yusuf. Ndukwe stated that one of the stolen streetlight poles was recovered from them.

According to him, “Further interrogations led to the arrest of two male criminal receivers, Lawal Mudan and John Alex, at New Artisan, Enugu. The suspects have been arraigned in court and remanded at the Correctional Custodial Centre.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has commended the operational successes of the operatives, and tasked them “to remain resolute and proactive in cracking down unrepentant criminal elements in the state”.

He also encouraged the citizens to continue to be law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive.
